Kashmiri students at BGSBU Rajouri boycott classes, hold absentia prayers for Eesa Fazili

Rajouri: Most of the Kashmiri students of the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) of Rajouri on Monday boycotted their classes to mourn the death of their university mate Eesa Fazili.
Fazili, who was studying engineering at the varsity, had joined militancy last year
He was killed today in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district today along with two associates in a gunfight with government forces.
Sources at the varsity said most of the university students hailing from Kashmir Valley remained absent from their classes.
They also held funeral prayers in absentia for Fazili, whose funeral in Soura area of Srinagar was attended by thousands of people.
However, locals and students hailing from Jammu attended their classes.
The university registrar didn’t respond to repeated phone calls from this reporter.
