Killing of militants sparks spontaneous shutdown in city centre Lal Chowk

Srinagar: The killing of three militants in South Kashmir disrupted normal life in majority of the Srinagar city areas. While authorities imposed restrictions in old Srinagar city and areas falling under the jurisdiction of Soura police station, the city centre Lal Chowk traders observed a spontaneous shutdown.

Reports said that majority of the trades in Lal Chowk shutdown their shops and business establishments in wake of the killing of three militants.
Pertinently, 3 militants were killed which include Eesa Fazli of Srinagar, Syed Owais Shafi of Kokernag and a non local militant were killed in Hakoora Kokarnag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district during the wee hours.

Reports added that there was skeletal movement of transport on city roads. The routine business was affected in most of the parts of Srinagar city.
