Srinagar: At least ten youth in the age group 16 to 26 with eye pellet injuries were brought to SMHS hospital from south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Sunday.
“After preliminary examination, the injured are being examined for extent of damage through CT Scan and other tests,” said a doctor. Following the twin gunfights in Shopian district, almost 40 youth have received pellet and tear gas shell injuries.
Medical superintendent SMHS hospital said that seven youth with pellet injuries were brought to the facility.
Clashes broke out in south Kashmir areas after the news of death of seven militants in a gunfight with forces in Dragad village spread.
Youth tried to march towards the gunfight site. However, police and paramilitary forces fired pellets and tear gas to disperse the protesters.
